Embassy of Culture - artistic mobility opportunities in Taipei (Taiwan)

Between May 3 and July 5, 2025 The Middle Art Space in Taipei is hosting the exhibition Sense of Autonomy (In Search Of). Curated by Vladimir Us, the exhibition presents the documentation of Oberliht Association's early projects (Interventions, Kiosk, Postbox Magazine, Zaikin Park and others) with works by artists Angela Candu, Ghenadie Popescu, Ștefan Rusu and Jarek Sedlak.

In the absence of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and Taiwan, the project also included a short residency to facilitate a dialogue between art initiatives between the two countries. Thus, Ghenadie Popescu's Tricolor, which was among the few original works on display in the exhibition, kicked off the Embassy of Culture program with its first edition in Taipei.

In this context, the coworking space will host the installation Open Page. The Taiwan Library available June 14 - July 20, 2025, featuring publications on contemporary Taiwanese art.

On this occasion we invite students, emerging and professional artists, and all those interested in Taiwanese contemporary art to a meeting with curator Nien-Ting Chen, where we will learn more about the cultural context and hear about the opportunities for artistic mobility in Taiwan available for artists from the Republic of Moldova.

Participation in the meeting is free of charge (subject to places available).
