Description
Music and Colors: Čiurlionis – More Than the Eye Can See
The artistic versatility, innovation, and cultural impact left by Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis—especially his visionary music and symbolist painting—will come to life in a unique multisensory experience.
The concert, structured in two parts, will first feature a piano recital performed by soloist Daria Chiselita.
Afterwards, she will be joined by Moldovan National Youth Orchestra, who will enhance the experience with a symphonic program presented for the first time in the Republic of Moldova.
The entire concert will be accompanied by projections and play of colours, while in the foyer, the public will be welcomed by an exhibition showcasing reproductions of Čiurlionis’s most important paintings, designed to transform music into a visual universe.
The concert program will include the most famous works of the Lithuanian composer, as well as pieces by the renowned composers who inspired him—Dvořák, Debussy, Sibelius, and especially Chopin.
Concert duration: ≈ 70 min
The event is organized by Moldovan National Youth Orchestra in partnership with the Embassy of Lithuania in the Republic of Moldova, as part of the Čiurlionis International Year, a UNESCO initiative celebrating 150 years since the birth of the Lithuanian composer and painter.
