Chisinau International Marathon 2017

Description

The third Chisinau International Marathon will be held on 1st of October 2017 on the main streets of Chisinau, the capital of Moldova.

Within the Chisinau Marathon, the following races will be held:

• marathon - 42 km 195 m
• half marathon - 21 km 0975 m
• race - 10 km
• race - 5 km
• Fun Run - 1,5 km

The total length of the course is 10,5 km ( 4 laps for marathon runners and 2 laps for half marathon runners).

• Fun Run (1,5 km): the Great National Assembly Square – Stefan cel Mare Boulevard – Vasile Alecsandri Street – Mitropolit Varlaam Street – Pushkin Street – the Great National Assembly Square;
  
  
• 5 km race: the Great National Assembly Square – Stefan cel Mare Boulevard – Ciuflea Street – 31 August 1989 Street – Sfatul Tarii Street – Stefan cel Mare Boulevard – the Great National Assembly Square;
  
  
• 10 km race: the Great National Assembly Square – Stefan cel Mare Boulevard – Ciuflea Street – Dacia Boulevard ( up to Rose Street) – Dacia Boulevard – Ciuflea Street – Stefan cel Mare Boulevard (up to Toma Ciorba Street) – Stefan cel Mare Boulevard – the Great National Assembly Square;
  
  
• Half marathon (21 km): the Great National Assembly Square – Stefan cel Mare Boulevard – Ciuflea Street – Dacia Boulevard ( up to Rose Street) – Dacia Boulevard – Ciuflea Street – Stefan cel Mare Boulevard (up to Toma Ciorba Street) – Stefan cel Mare Boulevard – the Great National Assembly Square (2 laps x 10,5 km);
  
  
• Marathon (42,195 km): the Great National Assembly Square – Stefan cel Mare Boulevard – Ciuflea Street – Dacia Boulevard ( up to Rose Street) – Dacia Boulevard – Ciuflea Street – Stefan cel Mare Boulevard (up to Toma Ciorba Street) – Stefan cel Mare Boulevard – the Great National Assembly Square (4 laps x 10,5 km).

Athletes, who are under 18 on the day of the race, but who will come of age in 2016, are allowed to participate in the marathon and half marathon, if they obtained parental permission. Parental consent is also necessary for the participants of the 5 km and 10 km races.

According to the rules of international marathons, all participants will receive a starter pack, which will include the personal bib number, a disposable timing chip, a commemorative T-shirt and the route maps with the detailed schedule of the event.

Feeding stations will be available at different points along the race course, where athletes can eat, drink, cool themselves with wet sponges, use the facilities, and if necessary, get medical assistance.

At the finish line all participants will get commemorative medals, while the winners will receive valuable prizes, as well.

In 2016, 15 thousand people from some 50 countries came out to the start line, 2300 of them ran 10, 21 and 42 km races of Chisinau Marathon.
